I chose to pursue a career in physical therapy at the State University of New York at Buffalo because I wanted a career that involved helping others and I developed an interest in physical therapy after being involved in high school sports, interacting with athletic trainers and a family friend that happened to be a physical therapist. I thoroughly enjoy working with patients who have bone, muscle and joint injuries. Even more so, I enjoy treating those patients with post-operative conditions as I enjoy being able to be a part of their recovery and see such significant progress over the course of their post-operative physical therapy. I too enjoy the outdoors and spending the time with my sons in their sporting activities.

My favorite thing about being a physical therap8ist is getting to know my patients and helping them to recover from injury or improve their function so they can do all the activities they enjoy. In addition to being a physical therapist, I am also a Pilates instructor. I earned my physical therapy degrees at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and the University of Kentucky. When not working as a physical therapist, I enjoy running and spending time with my husband and two children, including volunteering at the school and sports activities.

I have worked at Advanced Physical Therapy and Fitness for over 9 years. I really enjoy meeting all the people here at the office, but also across the country when I am on the telephone working on insurance issues. Discovering how we are all connected is inspiring. The one thing I would change about the current healthcare business if I had a magic wand would be to take the “business” out of it so that everyone had access to affordable healthcare and care would be managed by the providers. Outside of work you might find my doing yoga, biking, having fun outside and dabbling with making Asian cuisine!

I enjoy helping the patients at Advanced Physical Therapy and Fitness because the people are great: not just the employees, but also the patients I treat. It is certainly a pleasure to have a full hour to spend one-on-one with my patients! I spent part of my time after receiving my physical therapy degree from Northeastern University in the Air Force. I joined the Air Force to be something greater than myself and to serve my country. One of the privileges of being a physical therapist in the military was being a first line provider for musculoskeletal problems which is how I believe physical therapists should be allowed to practice.
